Where to watch Under the Skin (US)
The men weren't actors
In Under the Skin, Scarlett Johansson drives a van around Glasgow picking up men. Many of those men weren't actors. The crew hid cameras in the van, and Johansson, in a dark wig, chatted to real passers-by who had no idea who she was. Only afterwards were they told they'd been filmed and asked for permission. She plays an alien who lures them back to a place you won't forget.
Unsettling in the best way
It barely explains anything, and the score is one of the creepiest you'll ever hear. The strangeness comes from watching an ordinary Scottish city through the eyes of something that isn't human at all. Some people hate it. If it gets under your skin, it stays there for a very long time.
